Editorial Standards
GunReleases is built for American gun owners and hunters who want the facts before they spend their money. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.
Accuracy first
We publish only what we can source. Every product links to the source we used, and MSRPs come from the manufacturer whenever the manufacturer has published one. If we don't know something, we leave it blank or say "TBA." We don't guess, and we never invent specs, prices, dates or quotes.
Data versus opinion
Product pages are data: status, MSRP, dates, specs and sources. Our buyer's guides add editorial picks, and we tell you what those picks are based on. Unless a page says otherwise, we haven't range-tested the product, and we won't pretend we have. When we do hands-on testing, we'll label it clearly.
Independence
Some links on GunReleases may be affiliate links, and we may accept sponsorships. Money never decides what we cover, what status we show or which products we pick. Sponsored content, if we ever run it, will be clearly labeled. See our affiliate disclosure.
Fairness to makers
We report delays and price changes plainly, without hype or snark. A product that's late is late. We say so and show when it was announced.
Legal information
Where we summarize laws, such as the NFA changes, body armor rules or export controls, we cite primary sources like statutes, regulations and agency guidance, and we note that our summaries aren't legal advice. Laws change, and state and local laws can be stricter than federal law.
Our point of view
We're unapologetically pro-Second Amendment. We believe law-abiding Americans have the right to keep and bear arms, and that good information makes for safer, smarter gun owners. That viewpoint shapes what we cover. It never changes the facts we report.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and note meaningful changes in a product's status history. See how we track releases and contact us to report a problem.
